Welcome to William Lovell Church of England Academy.
Welcome to William Lovell Church of England Academy.
As the Local Governing Board, we're delighted to welcome you to the Governors’ section of the William Lovell Church of England Academy website.
In broad terms, as a Governing Body we:
· Take a strategic role in the running of the School.
· Act as a critical friend to the School.
· Ensure accountability to the school community.
We work in partnership with Headteacher, The Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust and the school staff, taking an active interest in the direction of travel and the improvement plans for the school, as well as financial monitoring.
We do not get involved in the day-to-day operation of the school. As a Governing Body, we are working alongside the Senior Leadership Team to build on this aspiration, committing to a plan of improvement for the learning outcomes of all our students
We are always keen to hear from anyone who is interested in becoming a governor and of course, if you have and questions or feedback please do contact the school office

I am delighted to be the Chair of the William Lovell Academy Committee. I look forward to meeting staff, students, parents and friends of the Academy in the future. I am confident that together we can ensure a bright future for the Academy and the students who are part of it. I am also a Trustee of the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust of which William Lovell is a valuable member. My background is Education and I have taught in the Secondary sector for 36 years in Hull, Scarborough , Bridlington and Grimsby prior to my retirement. My last appointment was Principal of a 900 student Academy. I have always been passionate about providing 'all' students with the opportunity to achieve their potential through supporting and challenging them to overcome any barriers to their learning that may exist. We must instil Hope and Belief in our young people in order for them to thrive and aim to be the best that they can be. My own personal interests have always centred around sport. Engagement in Sport of any kind offers so much in terms of personal, emotional, physical and mental growth and its benefits last a lifetime. I have a small dog - a border terrier who at the age of 11 still keeps me on my toes walking at least 6-8 miles daily. She brings so much joy to our family. I hope that my experience can enable me to make a valuable contribution to the ongoing development and success of this Academy and that it continues to be a positive force within the local community. I look forward to working with and alongside you in the coming months. |

I have been a governor at William Lovell Academy since 2021. I am a retired secondary school Maths teacher and have been an examiner for GCSE Mathematics for many years. I am responsible for overseeing Safeguarding at the Academy and meet regularly with the safeguarding lead to monitor any issues. My interests include gardening, reading and travel. I am married with two children, a daughter who is teaching in New Zealand, and a son who works in a school in London. As a governor I am concerned with promoting the Christian ethos of the academy and ensuring that the children receive the best opportunities to develop their full potential. |
Reverend Judith Simons |
I am the Team Curate in the Bolingbroke Deanery and am married with 2 grown up children. I also work as a School Librarian at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Horncastle, where I have been for the last 9 years. Outside of work I sing with Banovallum Singers and enjoy reading, going to the cinema and to the theatre. I am delighted to be working with the school on embedding the Christian ethos throughout all areas and hope to be a regular visitor to lessons and assemblies. |

I have recently taken on the role of Parent Governor at William Lovell Academy and I am really looking forward to the challenge and hopefully having a positive impact in the school community. I have previously held a governor position at a local village primary school for a number of years which I really enjoyed. I even got involved in fund raising pantomimes for the school, starring in 3 productions!! I'm married with one daughter who attends William Lovell. We have recently welcomed a little dog into our home which my daughter and myself enjoy taking out for walks and thoroughly spoiling. |
