William Lovell Church of England Academy

Governing Body

Chair of Governors - Mr. P. Brewster

Welcome to William Lovell Church of England Academy.

As the Chair of the Local Governing Board, I am delighted to welcome you to the Governors’ section of the William Lovell Church of England Academy website.

In broad terms, as a Governing Body we:

· Take a strategic role in the running of the School.

· Act as a critical friend to the School.

· Ensure accountability to the school community.

We work in partnership with Headteacher, The Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust and the school staff, taking an active interest in the direction of travel and the improvement plans for the school, as well as financial monitoring.

We do not get involved in the day-to-day operation of the school. As a Governing Body, we are working alongside the Senior Leadership Team to build on this aspiration, committing to a plan of improvement for the learning outcomes of all our students

I was delighted to be asked to Chair of the Governing Board earlier this year by the trust, recognising that I have many years experience as a school Governor and as such can bring that to support the development of the school as it moves forward with its Vision.

I am Lincolnshire born and bred, having spent my early life in this part of the County. My working life was spent in the Finance Industry, in and around the East Midlands and as such I bring not only a financial perspective to the table, but also that of being a parent and someone who is involved in the wider Community.

We are always keen to hear from anyone who is interested in becoming a governor and of course, if you have and questions or feedback please do contact the school office
