William Lovell Academy Ofsted Report
Following an Ofsted Inspection on 26th to the 27th February 2020, staff and students were delighted to be told that “leader’s actions have improved the school”
William Lovell is no longer judged to be Inadequate.
The report explains that in subjects such as English, Mathematics and Music, learning is “improving rapidly“ and describes pupils’ behaviour as “improving.” Staff were described as “proud to work at the school.”
William Lovell Leadership Team:
We are absolutely delighted to have come out of Special Measures. It has been a tough journey and I am so proud of our staff, students and parents who have kept faith in the school and worked so hard to ensure students get the educational provision they deserve.
The inspection report describes “vigilant” staff who ensure that pupils “feel safe” in school. Pupils report they have “many people to turn to, if they have a problem.” Inspectors describe how students “learn about religions and cultures” and are “proud to promote diversity.”
The report also commends how “pupils enjoy the opportunities they receive to learn outside of school,” describing how students “visit the theatre and take part in community and church events.”
The report commends the effort devoted by the Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities team in ensuring students receive support, describing how students are known “extremely well.”
The school and Trust already have plans in place to ensure that the school continues its journey of improvement and addresses the next steps as outlined in the report.

There is much to be done but a plan is in place and all staff are determined to do everything to ensure that pupils receive the very best education at William Lovell.
