Welcome to William Lovell Church of England Academy

It is my great privilege to welcome you to William Lovell Church of England Academy, a school where Excellence, Growth and Responsibility shape everything we do.

Nestled in the heart of our rural community, our academy is surrounded by open skies, rich farmland, and the enduring rhythms of the natural world. Our setting reminds us daily that strong roots and steady growth lead to great harvests. As in Matthew 13:32,  “The smallest of seeds, when it has grown, is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that birds of the air come and make nests in its branches”, we believe that with the right care, guidance and opportunity, every child here can flourish beyond expectation.

When our Year 7 students join us, they come to plant their roots, finding a place where they belong, are valued, and are supported in their academic endeavours. As they journey through their time with us, we nurture resilience, character and ambition, enabling them to grow into confident young people, fully prepared to cope and thrive in modern Britain. We are proud to instil the values of mutual respect, tolerance, democracy, the rule of law and individual liberty, equipping our students with the moral compass to navigate their future.

Our local area has deep connections to farming, agriculture and the armed forces—industries that reflect commitment, perseverance, and service. We celebrate these links while ensuring our students have the skills, qualifications, and confidence to pursue careers of their choice, whatever path they take.

We are equally committed to ensuring that every child, including those with SEND, receives bespoke support that recognises their unique gifts and needs. Our experienced leadership team and highly skilled teachers, enriched by the professional development opportunities provided through the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust (LAAT), ensure that every student receives the highest quality education.

We are a school on an exciting upward trajectory. Here, excellence means setting high expectations for learning and conduct. Growth is about developing knowledge, skills, and character over time. Responsibility means contributing positively to our school family, community, and the wider world. Together, these values enable our students to leave William Lovell not only with strong academic results but also with the confidence and compassion to make a difference.

Whether you are a prospective parent, a current family, or a member of our community, I warmly invite you to discover more about our academy—a place where each child can take root, grow tall, and reach their full potential.

Mrs Emma Bennett

Proud Headteacher of William Lovell Church of England Academy

About Mrs Bennett

Mrs Bennett is an experienced school leader with a deep belief that every child deserves a well-rounded education. Academic achievement is vital for lifelong success, but the true measure of education is the kind of young people that a school sends out into the world—compassionate, responsible individuals who care for others and for the natural environment that sustains us all.

Alongside her career in education, Mrs Bennett has represented her country in the sporting arena as an international hockey umpire, officiating at the highest levels, including the Commonwealth Games, Champions Trophy, and Olympic Qualification events. These experiences have shaped her values of discipline, fairness, and high expectations—standards she applies to herself and encourages in others.

Outside of school and sport, Mrs Bennett volunteers in search and rescue missions with her dogs. This work demands resilience, teamwork, and a deep respect for the outdoors, qualities she also aims to nurture in her students.

From the classroom to the hockey pitch, and from open fields to the search and rescue trail, her life has been guided by a commitment to excellence, growth, and responsibility—helping others take root, grow strong, and thrive in the ever-changing landscape of life.
